| Kilderkin beers will be available at the CAMRA Cambridge Oktoberfest from the 17th October at the University Centre.
Kilderkin Double will be available at the Shelford Feast starting 15th July 2007!
Feedback from happy drinkers of Kilderkin Double has indicated two common themes: the smooth velvety mouthfeel is much prized but the strong licquorice notes are perhaps a trifle too dominant. So the recipe has been tweaked, in the most modest of ways, by throttling back on the Chocolate malt and adding a small amount of oats to the mash. The result? A more balanced and slightly lighter malt profile and an even more velvety mouth feel.
Stop Press! Kilderkin Double has won the Silver Medal in the Speciality Category at the CAMRA Cambridge Beer Festival...thanks to all who tried it (whether you liked it or not).....if you missed it (or simply want some more) Double will be available at The Carlton Arms at the end of June...
Kilderkin Double made its debut at the CAMRA Cambridge Beer Festival on May 21st and appeared to go down extremely well, according to reports received at Kilderkin HQ. We were also chuffed that those connoisseurs at the Cambridge Evening News rated Double joint second out of ten in a "what to try" article - click here for the full piece.
Brewing next: Kilderkin Alt is now under production for the Carlton Arms' summer beer festival at the end of June and the Shelford Feast in mid-July. It's very nice.
Thanks are due to our friends and colleagues at The Milton Brewery who have assisted Kilderkin in all sorts of ways. And their "Dr Oh, go on then just one more pint" was the Kilderkin team's favourite beer at this year's Cambridge Beer Festival.
| Thanks to Terri and Jethro at the Carlton
Arms who hosted the first ever cask of Kilderkin in March. |
