|  Kilderkin Alt is a delicious copper-coloured ale brewed with a mixture of British and Munich malts and a small amount of wheat. The result is a wonderfully refreshing rich malty brew with a clean, smooth flavour and finish and a rocky head.
With an ABV of 4.8% this beer has a real depth of flavour but remains eminently quaffable.
The Alt style emanates from Duesseldorf where they serve it lightly chilled and in narrow 25cl glasses which promote and help retain its foamy head. A refreshing 25cl glassfull may not last long but there is no shortage of waiters carrying heavily loaded trays of liquid reinforcements. If you go to Duesseldorf try the beers at Zum Schluessel on Bolker Strasse. Whether you do or don't, try Kilderkin Alt.
